What is the maximum length of nifas?
Forty days. Nothing after day 40 can be nifas.
Is there a minimum length of nifas?
No. If the bleeding stops after a few days, make ghusl and resume prayer and fasting straight away.
What if bleeding stops and comes back within the 40 days?

What about bleeding after forty days?
It is not nifas. For a first birth, everything after day 40 is istihaza. With a previous nifas habit, everything after your habit is istihaza.
Can I recite the Quran during nifas?
Not as recitation, and you may not touch the mushaf. Dhikr, dua and listening to the Quran are permitted.
