Keeping Track of Cycles for Worship
Accurate record‑keeping is vital for correctly applying the rules of haiz, nifas and purity in Islam. A well‑maintained calendar helps you identify patterns, calculate your habitual cycle and ensure that you perform worship at the proper times.
Use a dedicated calendar or app
Choose a method that you’ll update consistently, whether it’s a paper diary, a spreadsheet or a mobile app. Record the first and last day of each bleeding episode, the length of purity in between and any irregular spotting. Over a few months, patterns will emerge.
Note important details
Include the intensity of the flow, changes in colour or texture and any unusual symptoms. These notes can help you distinguish between haiz and istihaza. Mark the days you performed ghusl and resumed worship, and update your aadat when your cycle evolves.
Refer to your records when using calculators
Our Haiz Calculator, Nifas Calculator and Taharat/Dam Calculator rely on accurate inputs. By keeping thorough records, you can trust the results and follow the appropriate rulings in both English and Urdu.
